When we heard the news that one of our favourite graphic designer and illustrator’s Daniel Ting Chong was taking a trip to Hong Kong and Tokyo we knew it was the perfect time to have him be a part of the Nifty Weekend Takeover. He has worked with brands with RVCA, 2Bop and Unknown Union and his illustration work has been featured in publications like New York Times, Men’s Health New York and 5280 in Denver.
We love his simple and clean aesthetic, with sneaker shots, beautiful graphics and the everyday moments in dispersed on his timeline. His 2,500 followers agree.
We caught up with him to find out who he loves to follow on Instagram, his most treasured possessions and to see what / where he recommends after his recent trip, and spots he is still dying to visit!

One of our favourite bloggers, Emma-Jane Harbour who is behind Emma-Jane Nation is someone we’ve been beggin’ to do a Nifty Weekend Takeover for like, forever. As a wedding photographer she is normally pretty busy, but she finally had a free weekend and as a newly minted Capetonian, showed us around her new hood – from runs on the promenade, cool little spots, think The Larder run by a lady who used to be Johnny Depp’s personal chef, to metre long pizzas at The Grand it was all sorts of perfection.
We caught up with Emma to chat about her favourite Instagrammers, photo editing apps & if she is a coffee or tea kinda lass..!

Tara-Lee is one of our favourite South Africans to follow, whilst her following may be small (1,500 followers) in comparison with other well known Instagrammers, she has a great eye and an aesthetic that we adore. She took over our Instagram last weekend and shared some of her best kept secrets (thrift shops), ice-cream afternoon snacks and her furry friend with us.
We caught up with her to get the low down on her favourite vintage stores in Cape Town, Instagram inspiration and her greatest extravagances!

A few weekends ago we had the rather lovely Alice Toich take over our Instagram account, we’ve been followin’ her via her beautiful photographs for ages, from her New York (she landed up on Humans Of New York) & Paris trips, to her mad painting & baking skills! Her weekend was filled with painting for her final fine art exhibition, writing essays, doodlin’ cakes, whipping up delicious food and a little sun gazing..
We caught up with Alice to talk about very serious things like the great macaron vs. cupcake & sprinkles vs. chocolate chip debate, plus we found out that her greatest extravagance is of all things, butter!

Emma Jane Menteath took over our Instagram account last weekend, and we’ve gotta say, even though we totes shouldn’t be biased, it was one of our favourite Nifty Weekend Takeovers ever! It literally was the perfect combination of fashion, flowers & food, or as we like to call them, the 3 essentials ‘F’s’ of Instagram – even better when you can mix two, see great example below: oysters & Ray-Bans.
Emma also happens to be the blogger behind one of our favourite new SA fashion blogs, ‘My Life In Pink‘ which she runs whilst being a full time model and part time student. She also just got back from a 3 month stint in New York, her blog post on the best cupcakes in NYC is essential reading for anyone with a sweet tooth heading to the Big Apple. We caught up with Emma to chat to her about her greatest extravagances, idea of perfect happiness, got her to weigh in on the macaron vs cupcake debate, and what exactly was in those little Chanel bags..
