Orange Recap – Nifty Colour Project II

There were 393 photos uploaded and tagged with #NiftyColourProjectII for the orange week, we were absolutely blown away by the submissions last week and had a really tough time narrowing down the winners. Kinda felt bad for the adidas team who had to choose the overall winner! Anshuman Ghosh aka @moography on Instagram was the ultimate winner of the super cool Stan Smiths. Check out the rest of the winners of Nifty vouchers below.. If you need a recap of the rules they’re over here. Now onto the yellow week :)

Chanel Hurlin – Nifty Weekend Takeover

Follow @ChanelHurlin on Instagram

One of our favourite things to do at the Nifty studio is put together the super cool weekend takeovers of our Instagram account, we love finding South Africans who take incredible photographs, and are off to some rather exotic locations. Whilst scrolling through our Instagram feed we noticed that Chanel was posting the most beautiful photographs in India, so obviously 5 minutes later an email was sent and last weekend she took us on a whirlwind trip from the Qutb Shahi tombs, to the top of the Charminar in Hyderbad, dodging tuk tuks and eating samoosas for breakfast.

We caught up with Chanel to find out about the highlights from her two months working and travelling around India, and the top 3 things you need to do if you go there!

New Brighton Bakery

Processed with VSCOcam with 6 preset

We’ve driven past the New Brighton Bakery so many times – it’s hard to miss, painted bright orange, and it’s been on our must-try-this-place-out-list for a very long time, we finally stopped by to take a photograph because the Nifty Colour Project colour is currently orange, and promised ourselves we would be back this week. We can finally tick it off the list because we stopped by for lunch today. It’s going to be a Nifty tradition, once a week we are going try out a new coffee or lunch place, preferably in our hood Woodstock, and then we’ll let you know what we think.. (more…)

Red Recap – Nifty Colour Project II

The winner of the Adidas Stan Smiths for red week was none other than @meghanmaconochie with this amazing pencil shaving artwork of the actual Stan Smiths, and she says her Instagram career pretty much started last year with the Nifty Colour Project. How cool?

This has fast become one of the most anticipated competitions in the Nifty Studio!  We love scrolling through our Instagram feed and seeing all your beautiful entries – from poolside lounging to amazing origami and pencil shaving, we can definitely say there have been many creative entries over the last two weeks – red is our colour so we had to give it just a little bit of extra love!

This year we have teamed up with Adidas to make things even more interesting.  Each week they will be choosing their favourite photograph from the week, and that person will win a pair of their highly coveted and hard to come by, Stan Smith sneakers. Plus any image that we regram will win a Nifty250 voucher!

We are super excited to show you all the amazing Red entries from the last two weeks, so without further ado here they are..

Matt Allison is one of those people we’ve followed on social media forever and you kind of feel like you know him and his family just via Instagram. They recently relocated from Cape Town to Sydney and a few months ago he squeezed in a tour of his new city for a very cool Nifty Weekend Takeover, from vertical gardens, to Icebergs ocean pool in Bondi Beach and the Harbour bridge it was quite a whirlwind. If you’re obsessed with minimalism, plant life and IKEA you 100% should be following Matt on Instagram.

We caught up with Matt to hear about his favourite places in Cape Town, Sydney and whether we can expect more hangryness inducing food snaps again, cos we miss them!
